The Yantai Library, founded in October 1956, now has two branches covering a combined area of 16,000 square meters and offering 1,051 reading seats and 24 service windows.

Its main venue is located at No 2 Huanshan Road, Zhifu district, while the old venue, located at No 51 Shizi Street, Dama Road, Zhifu district, now serves as the children's library.

The library houses more than 1.4 million paper documents and books and 1,337 types of current newspapers and periodicals. It has 3 million electronic books and nearly 2,800 types of electronic newspapers and periodicals.
