An Angers Film Festival delegation from France's Angers, a sister city of Yantai, made a special film panorama in Ludong University in Yantai, Shandong province, from October 25 to 26.
The film in the panorama was La Belle Vie (Beautiful Life). The film, based on a true story, was adapted by a young director Jean Denizot and was shot over four years. After the film, Jean Denizot shared his experiences of filmmaking as well as being a director.
Angers Film Festival, or the European First Film Festival, set up in 1988, is the oldest in Europe. It aims to introduce new directors to audiences. The film festival was held by Gaumont-EMI United Circuit Company, with Europa Cinema Chairman Claude-Eric Borloo serving as its chairman.
Every year, the Angers Film Festival will recommend some full-length and short films by new directors to participate in the Chinese First Film Festival. In return, China will introduce films to the Angers Film Festival held in France the following year.
As a grand film culture activity for young filmmakers, the Angers Film Festival has held the film panorama in Yantai for two consecutive years. It was the third time that the film crew came to Yantai for close exchanges with university students.
