Liu Tian and his teammate won gold in the men's 49er-class sailing race at the 14th National Games on Sept 10. This is the fifth gold medal won by Shandong's delegation.

Liu, a native of Yantai, was born in 2000. He started his sailboard training with the Yantai sailboard team in 2013. In 2017, he changed from sailboard to sailing. He won gold at the 49ers track race and long distance race of the 2020 National Sailing Championship.
