The Shanxi provincial government released a plan for the 2016 development of emerging manufacturing industries in Shanxi, on July 7, Taiyuan Daily reported.
The Shanxi Emerging Manufacturing 2016 Action Plan will focus on projects and investment in emerging manufacturing areas such as equipment, new materials, energy-saving and environmental protection, information technology, food, medicine, light industry, and textiles.
According to the plan, Shanxi will work on 100 key projects, provide support to companies, tackle technology problems, and accelerate industrial parks construction, investing 36 billion yuan with target sales of 140 billion yuan.
As far as the new materials industry is concerned, the province will work hard to develop new metallic materials, inorganic nonmetallic materials, and chemical materials. It will invest 35.1 billion yuan into the industry and expects to achieve sales of 160 billion yuan.
In addition, more efforts will be made to promote around 20 energy-saving and environmentally-friendly technologies and carry out over 200 environmentally friendly projects.
Shanxi will also work on 57 projects in information technology, providing support for 36 key enterprises to overcome problems in ten technologies.
It will also advance 30 key medical industry projects and build six industrial bases with an investment of 5.8 billion yuan.
