China's top court and top legal chamber co-issued a regulation on the legal supervision of civil enforcement on Dec 19 in Beijing, according to a news briefing.

Wu Shaojun, deputy director of the enforcement department at the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China, introduced the details of the improved standard of law enforcement.

To further improve the supervision of civil enforcement, both the SPC and the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) have reached consensus on relevant documents, said Jia Xiaogang, deputy director of the SPP's Civil and Administrative Supervision Department.

The regulation, consisting of 22 clauses, focuses on key issues, including the scope, approach, and effectiveness of supervision.

It will come into effect on Jan 1, 2017.

Wu said that the SPC has taken a series of measures to boost the standard of court order enforcement over the past few years.

The SPC should work closely with the SPP and open judgment documents to the public in a timely manner in order to safeguard the people's right to know and their right of supervision, said Wu.
