A delegation from the Science and Technology Research Institute of Tianjin University visited the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone on Oct 15 to enhance industry-academy communications. Zhao Xiaoping, vice-director of the administrative committee, and Zhao Guohong, vice-director of the investment promotion bureau of the Zone, received the guests.

Zhao Guohong first outlined the Zone’s economic and social development and then focused on the base construction projects in the built-up area and the greenfield part of the Zone.

Yang Minghai, vice-dean of the Science and Technology Research Institute, also talked about its teacher resources and basic research, and their applications for the institute and Tianjin University. Yang also expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone to construct a technology transfer center.

Zhao Xiaoping said the Zone warmly welcomed Tianjin University to exchange views on technology transfers and information integration. He hoped that the two sides could enhance communications and cooperation and the university could give instructions and suggestions on the development of the Zone.

The two parts later discussed cooperation in attracting skilled science and technology experts to Yunnan.

Directors of the investment promotion bureau, development research institute, incubator management center, and human resources bureau also attended the meeting.
