Kunming attends China Hi-Tech Fair 2014

A delegation from Yunnan, led by Duan Qi, vice-governor of the province, attended the 16th China Hi-Tech Fair held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province on Nov 16-18. Officials of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone were also invited.

Themed “Innovation and Green Growth”, the Fair displayed the latest innovations of China, highlighted the importance of advanced technologies in emerging industries’ development, and provided a platform for Chinese and overseas companies to exchange ideas.

The Yunnan delegation held involved communications with Shenzhen Innovation Committee and some leading enterprises on their cooperation in high technology and innovation. Afterwards, they visited Shenzhen OptimumNano Energy Co, Roofer Technology (Shenzhen) Co, Temobi Technology Co and ZTE Telecommunication Co to learn about their experiences and attract investment and technology.

In a later visit to the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI), Zhao Xiaoping, vice-director of the administrative committee of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone raised their cooperation intentions. He said that the Yunnan ASTRI would settle in the Zone soon. They welcomed Hong Kong ASTRI to have an on-the-spot investigation and look for cooperative opportunities in technological innovation, R&D, intellectual property and technology transfers. The Hong Kong ASTRI commented favorably on Zhao’s proposal and agreed to enhance cooperation within the Zone.
