When the bureau of culture and education of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone held an online interview at 10:00 am on Dec 5, local residents raised questions and the zone replied patiently and in detail.

The questions were mainly concerning the distribution of education resources, teacher training, campus safety and the gap in education quality between urban and rural districts. An official of the bureau of culture and education answered their questions, and explained that in order to better meet local residents’ needs of high quality education, the bureau had made great efforts to improve their education resources and seek fast and balanced development in all schools with the hope that each student in the Zone can get access to good education.

The interview was welcomed by local residents. Even when it ended, they still asked questions online. By 2:00 pm that day, the followers of the official account of the bureau of culture and education had exceeded 20,000.

The online interview was aimed at better serving people in the Zone via new media. From then on, net users have been able to directly communicate with officials online and the account manager will deal with their problems as soon as possible.
