A woman in Nanjing, surnamed Jia, who was unsatisfied with the results of nine cosmetic surgeries, on which she spent more than 110,000 yuan ($16,160), was recently awarded 70,000 yuan in compensation. She took the hospital where she had the surgeries to court, saying the procedures had left her uglier than before. Jia, who had the surgeries between 2014 and 2016, said the hospital had committed fraud. Both sides reached an agreement on the compensation sum after mediation from the court.

Drug user makes false rape claims
A man in Nanjing, surnamed Li, who hallucinated after taking drugs, phoned the police and claimed he had raped his first girlfriend. But he was incoherent and inconsistent when questioned by police. After a thorough investigation, police ruled out the possibility of rape, saying the man had experienced hallucinations. Senior citizen seeks free ride home
A woman, surnamed Pang, had to call police for help when a senior citizen she was giving a lift home refused to exit her vehicle in the city's Shapingba district on June 20. The man, surnamed Zheng, stopped Pang's car and asked her to drive him home because he was lost. But when the man could not show her his identity card or tell her where he wanted to go, she asked him to exit the vehicle. A police investigation found that Zheng, 80, had forgotten to take his wallet out with him and was seeking a free ride home, but had forgotten his address.
