Wang Chen was born in Guangzhou, the capital city of South China's Guangdong province, in 1956.

Wang is director of the China Photographers Association, and chairman of the Shenzhen Entrepreneurs Photographers Association.

Wang has won a number of national and international photography awards, including 61 golden prizes, 80 silver prizes and 96 bronze prizes.
