Dalian plans to invest 320 bn into infrastructure

Dalian will carry out 246 infrastructure projects in 2011, with total investment hitting a record high of 320.3 billion yuan, an official with Dalian Municipal Construction Committee said last Saturday.

Dalian International Convention Center, will be completed in June and serve as the site for the Summer Davos in September, according to the Committee.

Construction of a 9,000-square-meter fitness center will also be completed in May, providing facilities for body-building, entertainment and relaxation for the public.

In addition, road, highway and subway construction projects are all high on the agenda for 2011.

Laying of the tracks of the high-speed rail connection between Dalian Hi-tech Industrial Zone and Lvshun new port will finish in July with the route going into operation three months later.

Highways spanning Dalianwan and Shugang, Pikou and Paotai are to finish construction in September and October respectively.

Two subway lines in Dalian will complete channel digging by the year end and construction on the 13,526-meter-long Seaside Avenue in southern Dalian will also begin within the year.

The new Dalian Railway Station and station courtyard will come into use by the end of 2011.
