The St. Regis Chengdu recently announced it will start operating in July, making it the sixth hotel from the brand to open in China, after Beijing, Tianjin, Sanya, Lhasa and Shenzhen.
Located in Chengdu's central business district, the 29-story hotel is within walking distance from Tianfu Square and the popular Chunxi Road shopping area, and about 20 kilometers from the Chengdu Shuangliu International airport.
The hotel is part of the new Huazhi Plaza, a mixed-use development consisting of four towers that will become a hub for residential, business, shopping and entertainment.
"We chose the location very carefully. The first St. Regis hotel was open in New York in 1904. Both Chengdu and New York are fast growing cities, with a prosperous future," says the hotel's general manager Richard Deutl.
"Our hotel will set new luxury standards in Chengdu, with its promise of exceptional service standards and refined elegance," he says.
The hotel will feature 279 guestrooms and suites, with six restaurants and lounges offering various cuisines, such as Cantonese and Sichuanese.
Guests will also be able to enjoy St. Regis' legendary Bloody Mary cocktail and St. Regis rituals, such as champagne sabering and afternoon tea.
The hotel offers the St. Regis' signature 24-hour butler service for all guests.
