The city of Chongqing in Southwest China has entered the list of the 2014-2015 National Exhibition Cities. Liangjiang's Yuelai International Conference Center was also honored as the 2014-2015 National Top Conference Center, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee.

The award was announced at the 11th China International Conference and Expo Festival in Haikou, Hainan province. The festival has been held consecutively for 10 years since 2005 and has garnered much attention from the exhibition industry. It is known as one of the biggest festivals on the exhibition industry events calendar and has brought a cumulative amount of cooperation worth approximately 100 million yuan ($15.63 million) in the last 10 years.

According to Zhang Yongfeng, deputy director of the Chongqing Development Office, Chongqing will follow the country's Belt?and Road Initiatives to promote its exhibition industry in large.

Thanks to Chongqing's efforts to construct itself into an exhibition city in recent years, Yuelai International Conference Center is now the biggest conference center in Southwest China. The center was completed and put into operation at the end of 2013 and has held successful conferences there, such as the 16th China (Chongqing) International Investment and Global Sourcing Fair.
