People rarely unplug their home appliances, meaning that they still consume power after being shut down. Fushuo Science and Technology has a new chip that reduces standby energy consumption to zero and lengthens the lifespan of electrical appliances. Appliances can be set with an auto power-off mode in case of emergency.

"We have had numerous trials before this was successful. Now we are manufacturing chips in small scale for trial sales," said Liu Zongyu, president of the Company. According to a survey by OECD, standby consumption accounts for three to 13 percent of overall energy consumption worldwide. The figure is 10 percent for China, higher than the world average .

According to Liu Zongyu, the EU has increasingly strict requirements for energy consumption of electric appliances. High energy consumption has seriously affected appliance exports.

In September 2014, government bodies finally recognized the new chip technology, and agreed that it is a first of its kind in China. The company is also helping the National Standards Administration to draft the technical standards for appliances with zero standby energy consumption. It is also preparing for an energy institute and a modern lab to improve innovative and R&D capacity.

When the chips are manufactured in large scale, industries such as electronic components and electronic appliances may also benefit. As an important manufacturing base in mainland China and an innovation center for the upper stream of Yangzi River, the Liangjiang New Area is offering measures to invite science and technology companies to the park.
