Southwest China's Chongqing municipality signed an agreement with Chinasoft International, a global software and information technology service provider, to launch a software ecosystem project in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area.
The project is expected to promote Liangjiang's software and professional training services for the automobile, electronics information, high-end equipment, biomedicines, smart city and education industries.
As one of China's biggest software service providers, Chinasoft International will progress the digitalization of Chongqing's local industries -- and help companies from countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to invest in Chongqing.
Chinasoft International is divided into the Technical and Professional service Group and the Internet IT service Group, with the later providing what is known as JointForce -- an online platform involving software crowdsourcing, cloud migration, cloud operation and consulting -- for small and medium-sized customers.
To date, JointForce has over 420,000 global registered users, 55,000 registered companies, with a total contracts valued at more than 4.15 billion yuan ($592.81 million).
According to the accord, the software ecosystem project involves the operations of the global version of JointForce in Liangjiang.
It will establish liaison offices for BRI countries and regions, to attract investment and help Chongqing companies go global.
In addition, JointForce will provide technology management consultancy services to improve Liangjiang's project management abilities, fund user efficiency and improve delivery qualities.
UK trade commissioner for China praised Chongqing as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
