After careful assessment by experts from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education, China has released 109 5G+ intellectual education pilot programs, six of which are located in Chongqing municipality in Southwest China.
The six programs involve elementary, vocational and higher education.
At the educational development institute of Liangjiang New Area, a researcher is now able to teach students at Minxin Jiayuan Primary School, which is located four kilometers from the institute, through a?smart education platform. Using a 5G network, the platform also allows researchers to participate in research and teaching activities at all schools in the new area and access teaching resources targeting different student ages shared by administered schools.
Bashu Secondary School has similar practices and established an online teaching platform in September 2020 through coordination with many related enterprises, including Chongqing Mobile. The school's top-notch teaching resources are currently shared by more than 160 classes at nearly 100 middle and senior high schools scattered throughout eight provinces.
At Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, 5G is combined with AI in an apartment dynamic management platform, which was designed to monitor and evaluate student behavior and warn them of problems when necessary, according to Yu Xiang, vice president of the university's School of Communications and Information Technology.
UK trade commissioner for China praised Chongqing as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
