Software, information industry set to boom in Siming
A promotional event for Siming's software and information industry was held in Xiamen's Siming district in East China's Fujian province on June 28, and many industry leaders and experts gathered in the district to share their views on the development of Siming's software and information industry.
Siming district is beefing up efforts to accelerate the construction of a number of new platforms for the development of the software and information technology service industry, aiming to attract more enterprises in the field, according to Zhan Zhaowen, deputy head of Siming district.
A number of distinguished guests, such as Wu Xinhong, founder and CEO of Meitu, attended the promotional event, and shared their views on the development of the software and information industry.
In order to promote the high-quality development of the software and information technology service industry in Siming, the district released a three-year action plan in May, which states that the district will optimize the environment for the development of the industry, and deepen the innovation capabilities of local enterprises.
A signing ceremony was also held at the same time, and a total of 15 software and information projects were signed, which are expected to promote the transformation and upgrading of Siming's industrial structure, and give a boost to its high-quality development.
Siming has recently began to focus more on the growth of the information and software industry and has nurtured a number of important enterprises in those sectors, such as Meiya Pico in information safety and Meitu in facial recognition. Official statistics show that the size of Siming's software and information industry represents 70 percent of Xiamen's overall amount.
