The 2023 High-level Symposium on Maritime Silk Road International Economy and Trade Arbitration was held in Xiamen city of Fujian province on May 18 to enhance the cross-border dispute resolution capabilities of China and the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
Sponsored by the China Maritime Arbitration Commission, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Fujian Sub-Council, the management committee of the Xiamen Area of the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Xiamen Committee, the symposium consisted of keynote speeches and discussions.
The keynote speeches focused on the innovative development of international economic and trade dispute resolution mechanisms and offered suggestions for the future development of dispute resolution mechanisms for countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road and BRICS countries.
During the discussion, participants shared views on the law and practice of the Maritime Silk Road and provided valuable references for companies to prevent legal risks and resolve disputes, thus helping promote the high-quality development of international economic and trade. The China Maritime Arbitration Commission also signed memorandums of understanding with the Xiamen Maritime Court and the Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration Group.
