XMU celebrates 40th anniversary of its advertising major
The National Advertising Symposium and the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Advertising Department at Xiamen University (XMU) were held at XMU on Nov 18.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Advertising Department of XMU, as well as the 40th anniversary of advertising education in China.
In 1983, XMU established the Advertising Department - the first of its kind in China - which cultivated the first batch of advertising talents in China and established the basic model of advertising education in China. Over the past four decades, XMU's Advertising Department has cultivated nearly 3,000 outstanding talents in advertising and has been rated as a national first-class undergraduate program by the Ministry of Education. It has created a distinctive disciplinary characteristic and been praised as the "cradle of Chinese advertising talents" by the academic and industry communities.
A wide range of themed activities were also held during the anniversary, and honorary titles were awarded to those who have made outstanding contributions to Chinese advertising education.
To gather more social forces to support the construction and development of advertising education at XMU, the XMU Advertising Education Development Fund was launched during the event.
