Bobcats withstand Kidd's triple-double to beat Nets

NEW YORK - The Charlotte Bobcats overcame Jason Kidd's third consecutive triple-double to beat New Jersey 115-99 on Tuesday, ending the Nets' five-game winning streak.

Nets guard Kidd had 13 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists to become the first player in more than a decade to record three successive triple-doubles.

Jason Richardson scored 25 points and Gerald Wallace had 21 and 11 rebounds for the Bobcats, who roared to a 31-23 first-quarter lead and held a 59-45 advantage at halftime.

Raymond Felton, Emeka Okafor and Nazr Mohammed each added 17 points for Charlotte.

Richard Jefferson top-scored for the Nets with 25 and Vince Carter had 17.

* LeBron James's 22 points helped the Cleveland Cavaliers overpower the Seattle SuperSonics 95-79 for their sixth win in seven games.

* Rashad McCants had 27 points and the Minnesota Timberwolves ended an eight-game losing streak with a 101-91 home victory over the Miami Heat, which lost its eighth in a row. Dwyane Wade led the depleted Heat with 25 points.

* Derek Fisher scored 26 points and Kobe Bryant had 25 as the Los Angeles Lakers rolled to a 117-101 road victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. Pau Gasol led Memphis with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

* Luther Head had 24 points and Yao Ming 21 as the Houston Rockets cruised to a 92-84 road win over the Washington Wizards.

* Mo Williams and Charlie Bell each scored 21 points as the Milwaukee Bucks held off the Philadelphia 76ers for an 87-83 road win.
