HK Chief Executive to attend Universiade opening

HONG KONG - Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang will attend the opening ceremony of the 2011 Summer Universiade on Friday, according to a release by the government's Information Services Department.

During Tsang's absence, Henry Tang, the Chief Secretary for Administration Mr, will be the Acting Chief Executive.

Nearly 8,000 athletes from over 150 countries or regions are expected to participate in the 2011 Summer Universiade held in Shenzhen, southern city of China.

The Hong Kong, China, delegation comprises 102 athletes who will participate in 15 sports programs, including archery, athletics, badminton, diving, fencing, windsurfing, table tennis and taekwondo, etc.
