China’s national English newspaper China Daily organized a trip for its elite readers to travel to Beijing’s landmark attraction - the Palace Museum on Aug 15, 2014. The participants include the Minister of South Korea Park Joon-yong (1st from right) and his wife, staff from China’s Foreign Ministry and China National Medicines Corp, as well as readers from multiple countries.

As a part of China Daily’s Elite Reader Club’s activities, the trip aimed to help China Daily’s readers from various cultural backgrounds gain deep insights into the celebrated Chinese culture. Located in the center of Beijing, the Palace Museum, which is also known as the Forbidden City, used to be the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1840). It is historically and artistically one of the most comprehensive museums in China.
