Woman snaps salesgirls for single son

Traditionally, elders in China are eager to find good matches for their descendants and are willing to take risks to do so. In the latest example, a woman in Chongqing desperate to find a wife for her 30-year-old son has been caught secretly taking photos of saleswomen at a supermarket, Chongqing Economic Times reported.

The incident took place at a supermarket in the city last Sunday when a shop assistant surnamed Zhang discovered she was being inappropriately photographed by a 50-year-old woman using her mobile phone.

So she followed the woman and found, to her surprise, that the elder was lurking behind corners to take photos of other shop assistants rather than shopping.

Zhang called the police after the woman refused to delete the photos.

The woman said she just wanted to help her son find a girlfriend. Her son was almost 30 and seemed to be antisocial.

Li agreed to delete the photos after the police told her it was illegal to take photos of others without their permission and she could be detained for up to 10 days for the offence.
