Traditional Chinese Medicine Camp was declared open in Fuzhou on July 5, and 32 college students from Tzu Chi University and Taiwan Chia Nan University of Pharmacy & Science and their counterparts in Fujian Traditional Chinese Medicine University joined the opening ceremony.
The camp is run to introduce TCM to the younger generation in Taiwan, and courses about acupuncture, dietary therapy, Taijiquan, or Tai Chi are all available to the students.
To bulk up the exchange, organizers of the camp also have arranged other educational activities. Taiwan students will have a chance to learn about Beijing Opera, Quanzhou puppet shows and visit Fuzhou City.
Traditional Chinese Medicine, also known as TCM, includes a range of traditional medicinal practices originating from China, such as Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, dietary therapy, and both Tui na and Shiatsu massage. Qigong and Taijiquan are also closely associated with TCM.
