In the west of Xinjiang, Qapqal is the only autonomous county for Xibe people in China. Qapqal has a population of almost 200,000 with 25 ethnicities, which make up 75 percent. On May 20, a planting rice seedlings competition was held in Qapqal to celebrate the Xiqian festival.
