2 Cocoa tour in Hong Kong

Eat beat

Conrad Hong Kong and Valrhona, the French royalty of cocoa, are teaming up for a journey exclusively crafted for chocolate connoisseurs. Through May 31, an indulgent afternoon tea set will be served in the lobby lounge featuring concoctions of savories and sweet treats. The confections feature different cocoa varieties, such as crispy chocolate choux using Guanaja 70 percent for an extraordinary bitter flavor, and smooth and creamy chocolate apricot tart with Dulcey 32 percent for its velvety and enveloping texture. The subtle floral aromas of Alpaco 66 percent from Ecuador and intense chocolate taste balance the flavor of passion fruit in a newly created mousse cake that hotel pastry chef Billy Yuen declares to be one of his favorites. Priced at HK$238 ($31) per set, the themed tea includes house-made chocolate-chip scones and an option of Valrhona chocolate cappuccino or tea. Yuen has also incorporated Valrhona creations into the weekend tea spread. The weekend afternoon tea buffet is priced at HK$258 ($33) per adult and HK$188 ($24) per child.
