LOS ANGELES? - A man was killed and four others injured in a deadly shooting in Fresno in central California, local media reported Tuesday.
The gunman was identified as 42-year-old Lawrence Jones, who shot four fellow workers at Valley Protein, a plant located in an industrial area in central Fresno about 200 miles (320 km) north of Los Angeles, at around 8 am local time, according to a report filed by KFSN-TV.
The man, a parolee who had a criminal history, then went outside and shot himself, Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer was quoted as saying.
Jones suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He and two male victims are listed as in critical condition.
A 32-year-old man is dead and another female of the same age remained in serious condition, Dyer said. ?
The authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident and will release more information later on Tuesday.
