Thai PM starts Cambodia tour

(Xinhua) Updated: 2014-10-30 16:56

PHNOM PENH -- Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha started a two-day visit to Cambodia on Thursday, where he would witness the signing of three deals with the neighbor.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen held an official welcoming ceremony for Prayuth on Thursday afternoon at the Peace Palace before starting bilateral talks.

According to a news statement from the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders will preside over the signing ceremony of three cooperation documents.

The documents will be focused on the bilateral cooperation in tourism, eliminating human trafficking and victims protection, and a railway connection between the two neighbor countries.

Prayuth was elected as the 29th Thai prime minister by the National Legislative Assembly in August, three months after the army under his command seized power through a bloodless coup on May 22, toppling the civilian government led by deposed prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
