NAIROBI - Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said here Sunday that his visit to Kenya, the final stop of his four-nation Africa tour, yielded fruitful results.

Li made the remarks when meeting with Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto.

The Chinese premier said he had reached broad consensus with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and they witnessed the signing of a series of cooperative documents.

China and Kenya are both at a crucial stage of development and revival of their economies, and the cooperation between the two countries has great potential, he said.

China will continue to support Kenya's efforts in maintaining national stability, developing economy and improving people's livelihood, and will work with Kenya to implement the consensus reached during the visit so as to improve China-Kenya comprehensive cooperative partnership, Li said.

For his part, Ruto said Li's visit has greatly upgraded Kenya-China and Africa-China cooperation and will bring about more benefits to Kenyan people as well as African people.

Kenya is ready to enhance cooperation with China in the fields of infrastructure, agriculture and tourism, and improve communication and coordination with China on regional hotspot issues, he said.

On Sunday morning, Li visited the National Youth Service (NYS) of Kenya, which was established in 1964 to provide a home for displaced children.

The NYS has been a training ground for underprivileged youth yearning for skills that would guarantee them gainful employment.

In recent years, China has participated actively in NYS' programs by providing equipments and vocational training support.
