Broadway's holiday hit takes magical turn

The Illusionists will run at Broadway in New York for the third consecutive holiday season through Jan 1, 2017.

The performance, put on at the historic Palace Theatre, which is renowned for housing the world's premiere magicians and vaudeville acts at the turn of the 20th century, was made possible by producers Simon Painter, Tim Lawson, MagicSpace Entertainment and Road Show Entertainment LLC.

The Clairvoyants (Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass), who were recently crowned runners-up in NBC's 2016 America's Got Talent competition, lead the cast of The Illusionists. The Austrian natives' mind-blowing finale performance, seen by nearly 14 million people in the show's largest audience in five years, left AGT host and judges stunned, and more than 13 million people have viewed their performances via AGT's YouTube channel.

The Illusionists cast also features Dana Daniels (The Charlatan), Charlie Frye (The Eccentric), Mark Kalin (The Showman), Jinger Leigh (The Conjuress), Justo Thaus (The Grand Carlini), and Rick Thomas (The Immortal), joined by returning audience favorite Jonathan Goodwin (The Daredevil).

The Palace Theatre is the perfect venue for the performance. Harry Houdini himself performed at the magnificent theater, which opened on March 24, 1913, riding the wave as New York City became the American epicenter of live entertainment and The Palace became the premiere venue for notable headliners of the day including Ed Wynn, Will Rogers, Fanny Brice.

Now, more than 100 years after the golden age of magic, the magicians are ready to put on a show designed to transport audience back to the golden age.

Last year, The Illusionists – Live On Broadway broke the record for the highest weekly box office gross ever at the Neil Simon Theatre and recouped in just over six weeks of performances, making it one of just four shows in the 2015-2016 Broadway season to announce earning back its investment.
