Chinese and Western lifestyles to be integrated in Casa Fengchao

About five years ago, businesswoman Sara Jane Ho established China's first high-end finishing school, hoping to bring international etiquette and protocol training to the Chinese elite.

Now the Harvard Business School graduate expands her etiquette business to a broader scale.

A platform named Casa Fengchao will be unveiled next week, offering various services to help Chinese elite succeed in their business and personal lives in China and abroad.

Casa Fengchao is located in the former residence of Ronglu in Beijing, a Manchu political and military leader of the late Qing dynasty (1644-1911) and grandfather to Puyi, China’s last emperor. Built in 1875, the two-storey French style mansion is also where Rong greeted foreign envoys. "This clubhouse has served as a platform for dialogue between China and overseas since a long time ago, and Casa Fengchao will continue that mission," Ho said.

Casa Fengchao will offer various services to its Chinese and Western members across three categories: transcending borders, health and wellness, and building legacy.

"The clubhouse is also a space to exhibit culture and arts," she said. "We have an impressive line-up of industry leaders both in China and overseas to speak to our members."

Ho said that Casa Fengchao would be a place where different cultures would be appreciated and different minds and ideas from China and overseas would make collision sparks.

For example, although the building is in a French style, its furniture is a mix of Chinese and French antiques, giving members a taste of both Chinese and European culture.

"A century ago, our clubhouse, Rong Lu Residence, hosted guests from all over the world. Today, we are continuing its legacy into the 21st century," said Ho.
