French documentarian highlights environmental issues
Cyril Dion, a French film director, writer and ecological activist, recently traveled to China for the first time, bringing his award-winning documentary Tomorrow and creative thoughts on the relationship between humanity and nature.
"I think we should all be environmentalists, because we are facing one of the biggest issues humankind ever faced, climate change and the collapsing of biodiversity," Dion said.
The documentary Tomorrow, wrote and co-directed by Dion, shows different types of ecological lifestyles from around the world, highlighting current environmental issues. The film received several prizes, including a César Award for Best Documentary Film. The movie's namesake book has been published in Chinese.
He finds creativity and inner strength essential to build a society of the future. "Now we need to imagine another reality and imagine it so strongly it will make that happen."
