Concert held to mark 70th anniversary of China-Mongolia ties
A concert celebrating the long-standing friendship between China and Mongolia was held in Ulan Bator on Sunday night, attracting hundreds of Mongolians and representatives of Chinese citizens living in Mongolia.
The concert entitled "Yunnan with rainbow-colored clouds", co-organized by the Chinese Cultural Center in Ulan Bator and Yunnan People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, aims to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries and friendship between the two peoples.
The event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Mongolia, according to the organizers.
"Yunnan is a multi-ethnic province in southwestern China. I hope that the concert by the Yunnan ethnic village plateau art troupe can provide Mongolians with a deeper understanding of unique characteristics of Chinese multi-ethnic culture," Yang Qingdong, minister counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, said during the opening ceremony of the concert.
The concert included multicultural dances, folk songs and music from Yunnan province and circus performances.
