Shanghai hospital honors medical workers who helped in Wuhan
Shanghai Huashan Hospital on Friday honored its 287 doctors and nurses who were dispatched to Wuhan, the hardest-hit region in China during the novel coronavirus outbreak, and the Shanghai frontlines to treat COVID-19 cases.
Among these medical workers, 273 were from the four batches that were sent to support Wuhan. The first contingent departed Shanghai on Jan 24, the eve of the Chinese New Year.
The remaining medical professionals, including Zhang Wenhong, leader of the Shanghai team of experts in the treatment of COVID-19 cases and the director of the department of infectious diseases at the hospital, worked at the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center.
The four contingents sent to Wuhan worked at Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, Wuhan No 3 Hosiptal, Wuhan Wuchang Fang Cang makeshift hospital and the intensive care units at the Guanggu branch of Tongji Hospital.
