An exhibition featuring Tibetan cultural relics opened Thursday in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

The exhibition, held in the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, will last nine months.

It showcases 100 cultural relics from the Potala Palace and Norbulingka in Lhasa, capital of Southwest China's Xizang autonomous region. Most of the items are on public display for the first time.

The exhibits such as porcelain, Thangka and costumes enjoy high artistic and historical value, fully demonstrating the essence of Tibetan culture over thousands of years.

"The exhibition helps promote Tibetan culture and strengthen our exchanges and cooperation with the Potala Palace and Norbulingka," said Ye Ye, an official with the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum.
