Millennial leader debuts with museum solo in Beijing
Jiang, born in 1993 in Qiqiha'er in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, shot to national fame in 2016 when as a student of media studies at the Communication University of China, he made the final round in the highly rated debating show, You Can You BiBi. Known for his acute observation, outspokenness, and authenticity, Jiang boasts a legion of 2.88 million followers on China's Twitter-equivalent Weibo, establishing key opinion leader status among the country's millennials and Gen-Z.
Because of his courage to experiment and cross boundaries, Jiang wears multiple hats besides a debater. The 27-year-old is a blogger, podcaster, filmmaker, florist, producer and host of several hit reality shows.
"It's a novel experience for both of us," Huang told China Daily Website. A year Jiang's junior, the X Museum director said he has always been interested in curating exhibits that may differ from traditional art museum shows.
