Celebration of culture a resounding success
The 9th International Institute of Chinese Culture was held from July 1 to 10 in Beijing and Ganzhou, Jiangxi province.
Co-organized by the Central Conservatory of Music, the Music Confucius Institute Office & Center for International Chinese Language and the Music Education, the event, first initiated in 2014, has attracted nearly 800 people from more than 70 countries and regions.
The closing concert of the 9th International Institute of Chinese Culture, titled Embracing Future With Music, saw 25 people from 15 countries showcase their music talent with vocal performances and musical instruments. The participants were winners of the Chinese Bridge — Global Music International Music Talent Video Competition in 2020, an event co-hosted by the Music Confucius Institute Office & Center for International Music Culture Exchange, and the Central Conservatory of Music.
This year, the event also featured workshops on Peking Opera, Chinese folk musical instruments and Chinese folk music.
"During the past 10 years, the event has gathered young people from around the world, promoting cultural exchange and allowing people to communicate," said Zhao Min, secretary of the Party committee of Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.
