Cy Leo, a harmonica virtuoso, composer, and singer-songwriter from Hong Kong, performed in Beijing on Oct 21 and 22.

He received classical training in the instrument and won his first international award as a harmonica soloist at the age of 10 at the Asia-Pacific Harmonica Festival. By the age of 19, he had accumulated 17 international titles including Solo World Champion at the World Harmonica Festivals of 2009 and 2013.

The concerts also featured three jazz musicians from the United States, Manuel Valera, Janek Gwizdala and Samuel Chan, and violinist Sean Lai and cellist Bernard Chan, both from Hong Kong, bringing music works with a theme of "Free Dimension", fusing classical music, jazz, soul and funk. Cantonese pop music was also featured in the musical arrangements.

On Tuesday, the musicians will travel to Tianjin and perform at the Binhai Performing Arts Center.

Along with his musician friends, Cy Leo will perform in Tianjin on Oct 24. [Photo provided to China Daily]
