LA exhibition shows Ai Jing's diverse range of style
Ai Jing's exhibition All The World Is Green opened on Tuesday, at the Helen J Gallery in Los Angeles. This marks the debut solo exhibition in Los Angeles for the highly acclaimed multitalented artist, musician, writer, and actress.
The exhibition showcases a diverse range of artworks, including paintings, videos, and installations, demonstrating Ai's profound artistic skills and unique perspectives on life, nature, and emotions.
At the heart of the exhibition, Girl on a Swing is surrounded by block-color paintings and a recreated grassy area, reflecting the artist's inner world with vibrant hues of golden cornfields, radiant sun, and expansive greenery spreading out.
In her younger years, Ai yearned to leave home, but now she finds herself seeking a sense of return. This nostalgic sentiment has sparked Ai's exploration into painting, video, and installation art.
During the early stages of her career, as depicted in her poignant folk-rock single My 1997, she sang: "At 17, I left my hometown of Shenyang / For it seemed my dreams lay elsewhere." It wasn't until she gained international recognition and spent years abroad that Ai began to feel a longing for home.
"Childhood memories leave a profound imprint on one's growth. … These impressions are deeply ingrained within our character," reflects Ai.
Running until April 16, the exhibition offers ample time for audiences to explore and appreciate Ai's artistic vision.
