Reality show Riding Wind highlights cultural exchange
Mango TV recently premiered the highly anticipated talent reality show, Riding Wind 2024, which spotlights international women's cultural exchange and musical competition. This groundbreaking show, since its inception in 2020, has served as a platform for women aged 30 and above, challenging age stereotypes and celebrating the diverse beauty and confidence of women across different age groups.
This year's edition of Riding Wind builds upon its previous success by taking a bold step forward, emphasizing international cultural exchanges through captivating stage performances infused with elements of traditional Chinese culture. Notably, the show incorporates themes inspired by the 24 solar terms into its stage designs, adding a unique cultural dimension to the competition.
The debut episodes featured 36 participants from various countries, presenting a spectacular array of performances ranging from traditional Chinese operas to folk music, fan dances, and traditional Chinese choreography. One standout contestant, Chen Lijun, a young Yueju Opera actress, skillfully combined operatic singing with sword dancing, showcasing the bold and elegant demeanor of Chinese women.
In addition to the Chinese participants, international contestants delivered resonant performances in their native languages. French chanteuse Joyce Jonathan enchanted the audience with classic French folk tunes, while Russian artist Mari Kraimbrery impressed with acrobatics in her original song performance. American pop singer Sasha Alex Sloan captivated viewers with her hit Dancing with Your Ghost, which has gained popularity on Chinese short-video platforms.
