43 CPV soldiers' remains, belongings to be returned soon
The remains and belongings of 43 Chinese People's Volunteer Army who died during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea?(1950-53) will be returned to China soon from the Republic of Korea, China's Ministry of Veterans Affairs said on Friday.
The ministry said the handover will take place on Nov 28, marking the 11th repatriation of CPV martyrs' remains since 2014 when the two countries signed the handover agreement.
By the end of 2023, in accordance with international laws and humanitarian principles, the two sides had completed 10 consecutive handovers involving the remains of 938 CPV martyrs in ROK, along with related artifacts, it said.
Both nations have agreed to continue their cooperation in the repatriation efforts, it added.
Nearly 200,000 CPV soldiers lost their lives on the Korean Peninsula during the war.
