The deputy director of the Zhangyi township police station in Yuanzhou district, Guyuan city, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, was removed from his administrative position due to his improper behavior during law enforcement, according to a statement issued by the district's public security bureau on Sunday.

In response to online reports that staff members from the police station beat a student, the public security authorities of Guyuan and Yuanzhou immediately formed a working group to launch an investigation on Saturday.

According to the investigation, at around 3 pm on Friday, the police station received a phone call from a local resident reporting that his child had been beaten by a fellow student at school.

The deputy director Wang led the on-duty staff members to the scene.

Upon arrival, two third-grade students reported that they had been repeatedly beaten by Ma, a sixth-grade student at the school.

The police officers registered the information of the individuals present, verified the relevant situation, and comforted the injured students and their families members.

In the meantime, Ma left the scene on his own, so Wang and an auxiliary police officer Dai went to seek Ma.

After finding Ma, they kicked and beat him before taking him back to his teacher's office to wait for his parents.

The incident captured in the video circulating online occurred when Wang and Dai found Ma, the statement said.

After the incident, the district's public security bureau immediately cooperated with Ma's parents to take Ma to the hospital for examination and treatment.

According to the CT scan, ultrasound, and the doctor's examination, Ma had minor soft tissue bruises on his face and lower back.

On Saturday, the city's public security bureau ordered Wang to cooperate with the investigation and apologize to Ma's family.

On Sunday, the city's public security bureau decided to remove Wang's from his position.
