Conference to promote understanding of China's development path and global impact
The 8th Understanding China Conference will take place from Dec 2 to 4 in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, bringing together global experts to explore China's development path and its global impact.
With the theme, "Carry Through the Reform to the End: Chinese Modernization and New Opportunities for World Development", the event is co-organized by the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs and the Guangdong provincial government.
The conference will be hosted by the government of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong.
According to Xu Weixin, president of the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, the conference will host approximately 600 participants, including politicians, scholars, representatives of international organizations and industry leaders.
The three-day event will feature an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, guest dialogues, six parallel workshops, 14 thematic forums and a series of supporting activities.
The conference agenda will include highlighting the global significance of China's deepening reforms and modernization, presenting the distinct characteristics and achievements of China's path to modernization, promoting traditional Chinese culture and demonstrating the unique advantages and development prospects of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
"Through civilizational exchange, the Understanding China Conference seeks to highlight China's responsibility and wisdom in promoting global welfare," Xu said during a press briefing on Wednesday.
