China donates winter supplies to Palestinian children in West Bank camps
RAMALLAH -- A donation ceremony was held recently in two refugee camps in Tulkarm, northern West Bank, to distribute winter supplies from China to Palestinian children.
The supplies were donated on Monday by the Office of the People's Republic of China to the State of Palestine through Mahmoud Abbas Foundation, a Palestinian non-profit organization.
Head of the Office Zeng Jixin said during the ceremony that China firmly supports the Palestinian people in restoring their legitimate national rights, always upholds fairness and justice for Palestine, and provides humanitarian and development assistance to Palestine to the best of its ability.
For consecutive years, the Office has worked with the foundation to donate supplies to Palestinian refugee camps, Zeng noted.
The distribution of winter cotton-padded clothes to the children of the two refugee camps in Tulkarem serves as a tangible expression of warmth and friendship, showcasing China's solidarity with the Palestinian people, he added.
During the ceremony, the Palestinian side said that the locals were deeply touched by the Chinese side's visit to the refugee camps to donate supplies, which reflected China's firm support and selfless help to the Palestinian people, and brought much pride in the deep friendship between the two peoples.
In Tulkarm Camp, 12-year-old Tala Ofeh told Xinhua that her home and the roads in the camp were all damaged. "Today we have gifts from China, and I'm really happy," she said.
