Special envoy reiterates Chinese entrepreneurs' key role in battling climate change
Since 2009, the Vanke Foundation has actively participated in UNFCCC COPs for 11 consecutive years, sharing inspiring stories of Chinese civil climate actions with the world.
It has been learned that the Vanke Foundation's move during the COP has facilitated multi-level international dialogues and showcased a robust and active Chinese civil voice on the global stage.
The Vanke Foundation also held two press conferences in collaboration with partners such as the China Environmental Grantmakers Alliance (CEGA) and the Center for Environmental Education and Communications of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. Reports on "Selected Case Studies of Climate Philanthropy Impact" and the "'2024 Beautiful China: I am an Actor' Corporate Climate Action Case Collection," were released, highlighting China's corporate climate responsibility and civil initiatives to international stakeholders.
At other side events, Vanke Foundation's flagship projects, including the "Zero Waste Palace Museum Project," "Carbon Neutral Community Development," and food waste treatment using black soldier flies were introduced to the audiences, showcasing the global potential impact of community-based climate actions in China.
While the COP29 was concluding, the Vanke Foundation stressed the commitment of the Chinese people to combating climate change remains unwavering, noting that it will continue to collaborate with its partners, both at home and abroad, contributing Chinese wisdom and efforts toward achieving global climate goals as both an advocate and a doer.
