ICH tours in 34 villages across Beijing unveiled
Intangible cultural heritage tours in 34 villages across Beijing were unveiled in the capital city's Yanqing district on Dec 6.
They highlight ICH gourmet food, craftsmanship, customs and exhibitions, and aim to spice up traveler experiences and bring new vitality to rural tourism.
More than 100 participants, including ICH inheritors, cultural institutes and district culture and tourism authorities joined the launch ceremony that was hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.
To accelerate the upgrading of rural tourism, the Beijing bureau recently issued an implementation plan for rural tourism quality improvement and upgrade (2024-2025). The plan aims to enhance the cultural connotation of rural tourism, empower it with technological innovations, and promote the "Rural Homestay plus" model. These efforts are focused on creating new business types, scenes, and models in rural tourism, contributing to the high-quality and sustainable development of the city's rural tourism industry.
