The annual Yidan Education Forum by the Chen Yidan Foundation was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, earlier this month, brought together experts and insiders from China, Singapore and the United States.

Centered around the education ecosystem for future generations, the forum delved into how artificial intelligence will transform the education landscape, reshaping the concepts, models and methodologies employed in schools.

Yu Shengquan, director of the Advanced Innovation Center for Future Education at Beijing Normal University, emphasized that the swift advancement of AI presents both challenges and opportunities, paving the way for the transformation of traditional education models.

Chris Ruirui Rao, secretary-general of the Chen Yidan Foundation, underscored the importance for educators to focus on the societal and psychological implications associated with cutting-edge technologies. She outlined a goal to cultivate the learning capabilities of children and young people to leverage AI. Rao pointed out that education should aim to enhance human intelligence capacities rather than being supplanted by AI.

For the third consecutive year, the forum continued its tradition of releasing a report that provides guidelines for the future of learning. The report "CMYK: The cross-boundary design for learning by a future educational syntax" highlights the enduring impact of cross-subject learning, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary programs that integrate knowledge from various subjects, a trend expected to persist.
