In Xindu sub-district in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, Tan Jing, the principal of the Community Parent School in the sub-district, is happy that the area is making financial contributions and thinking of ways to improve people's well-being.

Tan said her school has recently received 12,000 yuan ($1,690) for new electronics that will be used in the classroom.

She said, "The Community Parent School is a characteristic brand of Xindu Sub-district Community Education School, focusing on the comprehensive training of parents, and helping parents with the right thoughts, methods, and behaviors to educate their children to develop good thoughts, character, and habits."

Established in 2012, the Xindu Street Community Education School was rated as a "Chengdu Municipal Quality Community Education School" in 2017.

Tang noted that in order to explore new ways to improve well-being, the Xindu Street Community Education School also spent 8,000 yuan as part of a public-welfare project on March 22 this year. The project is with Chengdu Zhang Shiming's Master Studio to launch the "Master's Teaching — Empowering Parent Growth" event at Machao Community teaching post to help parents of kids aged 3 to 18.

Zhang stressed that in recent years, with the implementation of the related laws, home-school co-education has become a hot topic.

"By guiding a group of parents to set up correct educational concepts, they can help influence and motivate other parents," Zhang said.

He noted that for the first time, the community parent school is now has a fixed classroom, fixed students, fixed activity locations, and fixed course arrangements, with courses held on the third Saturday of each month around 10 times a year.

The school's first session was conducted both online and offline, attracting more than 50 parents to attend in person and thousands of people to watch the live broadcast online.
