Chongqing set up its first lawyers group to help protect women and children's legal rights, and 15 lawyers were hired on March 2, reports a Chinese website for women, women.org.cn.
According to the cooperation agreement between Chongqing Women's Federation and the Bar Association, the group aims to provide free legal service, professional consultation and aid, including helping poor women whose rights have been violated, mediating in family affairs, and promoting legal service in the community.
The first 15 lawyers have about 10 years of professional experience, and enjoy a good reputation in social public welfare.
The lawyers group will recruit more new members to cover Chongqing’s 38 districts and?counties.
