For most Chinese film fans, the 1996-released
Independence Day is among their earliest favorites when it comes to Hollywood sci-fi blockbusters.
Now, the 20th Century Fox film on aliens is to be released on the Chinese big screen during the ongoing Shanghai International Film Festival, which ends on June 19.
Other Fox classics which are being screened during the festival include Oscar-winning dramas Black Swan, Birdman, The Last King of Scotland and The Descendants.
